Did your spouse not live with you at any time, even for one day, during the last six months of 2006? If so, then file as Head of Household and claim your children.

I see no reason to file with him, the savings aren't worth it and in fact you may get a bigger refund than you would if you filed with him. Plus, why would you want to share your refund with him?

File soon, good luck.

If you lived apart from your spouse for at least the last 6 months of the year you can file as HoH if you have qualifying dependents. You'll probably make out better than he does as he will probably have to file married filing separately. Since you qualify for HoH, you can also claim the EITC and child tax credit if your income meets certain limits.

I left husband in December. We the two have distinctive addresses. Do I document with him or by myself? He gained money from his mom and dad sources and needs to document mutually so he does not could pay extreme taxes. Plus we the two are on social risk-free practices. I did artwork slightly final 365 days, yet made all mutually below $22,000. not sure what to do.

Yes...you may want to calculate your taxes filing both joint and separate and see which works out better.
