Good morning. I am really proud of you I know your grandfather and the rest of your family are as well. However, please allow me to suggest that you do it yourself, I am sure he would appreciate it more. It is easy, I have included a site where if you chose you could obtain free replacement medals; I did not include sites where you can purchase replacements or miniatures as if you chose that path they are easy to find. Go to one of the sites for Military Medals and they have all kind of displays I have my regulation ones in a large shadow box frame, while the miniatures are on a bar.

Piece of cake! I would like to applaud you for your kindness and thoughtfulness. We first need to determine if he has his DD214, if not I would check to see if he registered it with your local clerk if so we are ahead of the game. If not, go to http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/get-service-records.html and request a copy. Go ahead and download a SF 180 (form) Requests Pertaining to Military Records, from http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/replacement-medals.html complete it and send it (along with a copy of his DD214) to one of the following:

there sure is...give a military Chaplin his military papers [or proof of service,] and ask him the procedure for retrieving service awarded medals... it takes a Little while, but it was worth the efforts...there is bureaucracy involved.

You should be able to. You will need his records though. Go to your local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and they can steer you in the right direction.
