I'm not currently in the Air Force Reserve, having retired from it, but I highly recommend it.
My service included a little less than three years in the Air National Guard, ten years active duty in the Air Force and 18 years in the active Air Force Reserve.
I served a year in Vietnam while on active duty. I enjoyed all my time in the service, but especially liked the "part-time" aspects of the Guard and Reserve.
If you don't like military service you probably won't like the Air Force Reserve, but I would recommend it as a very good way to serve, gain benefits and earn a retirement as well.
By the way, my monthly retirement check is more than 2,000 dollars.
