For a week or even longer, my mind, my memory seemed to be slipping. I'm only sixteen years old and I have no explaination of what's going on. I forget big things like how to do a chemistry problem and I forget the little things too like my usual routine. When I try to read a note or message, say passed to me by a friend, I would stare at it for a while until the small sentence would make sense in my head. I sometimes just stop in my tracks and try to remember why I'm in that certain room. Am I losing my mind??

Maybe you're just burned out on studying. A week isn't a very long time, if you still feel the same way after a month, tell your doctor how you feel. If you don't feel that way anymore, you were probably just temporarily stressed out. You seem to be pretty young to have to take sleeping pills; I hope your doctor prescribed them or that he or she knows you take them.

no you are not losing your mind. people actually do what you are doing , and i do what you are talking about all the time, most of the people i know does that.
but i might add, you are kind of young to be doing that, going into a room to get something, then when you get there not knowing why you are there, i then go back to the room i was in, and something will tigger me to remember, but by the time i get back there i have forgotten. You are not lossing you mind, but you ,might be really stressed , cause for some one your age to be doing that, well , I think it is kind of a little young to be doing, it; but yet i can see how you can be like that, if you have so much on your mind, and am trying to do too many things at a time. Now if it really is bugging you a lot, then maybe you should be going to an professional and talking to them about this, but i really don't think there is anything to worry about, i think in time it will just go away, when you reduce some of the things you are doing in your day.

The allergy drugs might be doing something to you. Sleeping pills at the age of 16. You know that when you start taking those pills to help you sleep; you will get so that you won't be able to ever sleep without them.

Allergy and sleeping pills can both affect your memory. There are many side effects.
I think you are stressed like most teens.
If you continue to have memory problems, it could be a medical condition like Epilepsy. See your doctor to ease your mind.

Nothing is wrong with you. Many young persons of your age are experiencing this now-a-days. This is because you have created a complication mentally which you are unable to identify.

Please practice meditation for 5 minutes initially. Within a week you will get back to normal.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems- but I have to ask-- do you do drugs? do you drink excessively? Are you on birth control? Do you take any prescription medicines?

All of the above can have an affect on your memory but not to the degree you are describing- tell your mom and have her take you to see your family doctor--- he will need to run some tests on you to make sure that nothing serious is going on.... it is always better to be safe than sorry...............I hope you do well.........write us back and let us know what's going on with you........God bless...

Have you been evaluated for A.D.D.? It sounds very likely in your case.

In the meantime, if you're not getting enough sleep, that could be adding to your difficulty.
