Yes... the cardio will definately boost your metabolism, while the extra water will flush your system and help you break down fats!

Great idea!

Sorry to hear about the accident- ouch that hurts- I assume you are out of your cast? and you have some muscle atrophy of that leg?
The cycling will definitely help you lose weight along with drinking at LEAST 8 glasses of water a day--- people don't realize that our bodies are made up of 85% water and replenishing the cells is the only way to rid the cells of fat-- so drink water instead of anything else- if you're a beer or soda drinker- give it up for water- even the flavored waters are good for you--- and just watch your junk foods- give them up for protein-- even MILK--- you will lose weight............good luck to you and with your future surgery.

yes cycling will help with weight loss.
Just drinking water wont cause weight loss, what you are doing is flushing your system and removing excess salt and that would cause you to loose what they call "water weight" which is just what it sounds like extra water hanging out in your fat cells. It would only amount to 10 pounds or less.
Obviously drinking plenty of water is good for you though so do it!

I believe that it would. Changing nothing about your diet but drinking alot of water would help you lose weight. So pair that with cycling which is a good form of cardio and you have your own personal weight loss plan. Good Luck!!!!

My wife's cousin broke his ankle and was bed ridden for a year. During this period he put on weight due to medication and lack of exercise.

Later when the doctor advised him to exercise, he started doing it slowly and steadily.

Firstly, he did massaged his legs regularly with the help of a physiotherapist for a few months.

Then started walking with a 'walker' by limping.

Then after a couple of weeks a bit faster and faster, then without 'walker', then slowly started running and cycling.

After 6 months of sincere efforts, he was back to normal.

This is only to give an idea about how one can prepare himself to come back to normalcy.

But, regarding weight reduction, dont be very anxious about it. Completely avoid fatty items like butter, chocoloates, fried items like chips. Take more raw veg like carrot, leafy salads. Keep moving according to the condition of the wound.

Remember to avoid OVER DOING OF EXERCISES!
