Hey there, over the counter products don't work for acne. Trust me, I've tried everything. I regret not seeing a Dr. before I reached adulthood. I suffered from acne since 15, but didn't discover the cause of my acne was hormonal until I was 29...a lot of wasted time and scars. Really, before your acne gets out of hand you should see a dermatologist and a dr. to determine the cause of your acne. If it is hormonal you need to have blood tests done so you can be prescribed medication that will control the problem. Don't let your dr's tell you to try antibiotics, the acne will only come back worse after you stop.

In the meantime you can try to control your acne with products like proactive and acnefree which use benzoyl peroxide. I have found good results with proactive.

I have tried just about everything on the market and the only thing ive found where i actualy saw any improvement in my skin was natures cure papaya cleanser found at your local walmart for about 18$ you get the cleanser, toner, and moisturiser but i did also popped all my blackheads before starting the regimen and havent had any since also about once a week i use st.ives apricot scrub to help clear the dead skin it might irratate sensitive skin so i would not recommend scrubbing you face with it

I agree with Cetaphil. Dermatologists always recommend it for people with sensitive skin. Also, if you have a really good dermatologist in your area, s/he may sell a line that will work well with your skin that is not available in stores; strangely enough, they are usually very reasonably priced too. Best of luck.

If your skin is sensitive i would NOT use proactiv as it is too harsh on sensitive skin, use cetaphil face wash, it is mild and gentle of delicate skin, a more expensive alternative would be dermalogica (recomended by dermatologist worldwide).

Good luck

Clean & Clear makes a Morning Burst face wash and it is great I use it and my skin is sensitive also. Proactive would be my next solution!

Aveeno facial wash or Sea Breeze skin cleanser for sensitive
skin. Aveeno is good if you have irritaded skin.

I agree with the person who suggested Cetaphil. It's a great, gentle product!

If you're sensitive, please don't try Proactive. It made my face peel really bad.

Best of luck!

i swear by cetaphil (you can get it at any drug store). it is SO gentle. other facewashes have always made me break out--this leaves my skin in perfectly supple condition--not greasy, not dry. hope this helps
