I met this guy online and I really like him, we have a lot in common and he seems to like me too. We had been chatting for a week, and have recently moved on to phone conversations. The problem is I am shy, and today when he called I didnot have much to say. I'm afraid he'll take that as me not being interested, which is not true... what should I do?

You have to suck it up and tell him before any misunderstandings occur. You might find it easier to talk after you have gotten this off of your chest. It could be inhibiting you from meaningful conversation because it's constantly on your mind.

Slow down, take a deep breath and relax. We all don't talk all the time. Send him an e-mail and explain you didn't feel all that talkative, maybe he'd like that in a relationship (some quiet time) Let him know that you hope he didn't misunderstand.(He may think you're mad about something) Slow down the relationship to primarily e-mail if that's what you're more comfortable with. You have control and the power to say when and where you will eventually meet. Just remember that everything will happen as it should when it should and you can say when that is. Good Luck! =)

Well it might make things easier if you told him you are shy and that was why you didn't have much to say. If you can't do this on the phone you can always e-mail him because that would probably be easier. I'm shy myself so I've found that it sometimes helps to just tell people this fact sometimes.

Tell him you want to meet face to face. If the chemistry is right he will know even if you are shy. Just keep safety in mind and meet in a public place, and let a friend know where you are and when you will be back.

a week is too sooon. i waited for 6 months to tell the person that i liked her and a month after that i said "i love you" you cant really know for sure if you actually like the guy if you have been talking for only a week cuz if you end up getting hurt you just wasted your time just make sure to know what your getting into.

make sure you do a lot of research into this person.. their are some strange people in on the web.. but any-who.. if you like him go for it!! if your shy. be SHY!! nothing wrong with that.. be yourself..i know it sounds cheesy but it Will pay off.. be upfront. tell him exactly what is on your mind.. what do you have to loose?? if he sticks around.. its meant to be. if not no big deal.. good luck

You get over shyness... with difficulty... with courage... by trying it repeatedly with lots of different people, so that by experience you eventually learn you don't need to be scared.
