My experience is an hour walking, a half hour lounging, and a half hour running. Does this work for a medium build dog with way too much energy for a dog exercised every day?

I'd check out this website:

It gives alot of great tips on dog exercises and how much exercise they need.

I hope this helps and good lucks with your hyper joyful dog! :)

Every dog should be exercised until the dog is exhausted at least once a day.

However, a minumum of 2 brisk walks a day , each at least a half hour in length.

My dogs would think that you are trying to kill them! :)

I would think that it would work for a high energy dog, but it depends on the dog. I haven't had a high energy dog in a long time, but the one I had was horribly high energy. I taught her to fetch with a Chuckit (a plastic thing that allows you to throw a tennis ball without touching it, it is available at most petstores) and we would go play Chuckit for about 1 hour to tire her out.

I think a nice brisk walk or run for 1 hour a day is fine for all dogs. as long as you spend and hour a day walking him this means leash and walk not throwing a ball this is additional then it is fine

45 minute walk 2ce a day, plus going out for a run and potty breaks.
