I am looking for a hotel in LA with a tropical/Hawaiian/tiki theme. You know those older style motels that are a bit kitsch?! Not bothered on area, someting with parking would be good though. Don't mind if it's older, just not too run down. Under $100/night also.

There's the Safari Inn in Burbank. Great neon sign outside, don't know about the decor, but you can check out their website. They are part of the Coast Hotel chain.

Try the Beverly Hilton on Santa Monica BLVD.
Trader Vic's has that theme, which is the restaurant at the Beverly Hilton.
It is going to be over $100 a night but you only live once!
