There is a big demand for Mandarin Chinese interpreters in both the private sector (international trade between the US and China is rapidly growing, and companies need translators) and the military.

Schools and colleges are starting to offer it more commonly (I hear the government is putting out grants of some kind for students who are studying international languages now).

So yeah you could make a career with a Mandarin degree and a Business degree if you really wanted to.
