Have you heard the saying: " Practice makes man perfect".
Medical is one field where you are not always experienced, a doctor might have done 1000 operations but the 1001th operation might fail (ofcourse, there are various reasons for that).
Which means that he still needs some more learining to do; he needs some more training and hence the term 'practice'.

Medical profession includes constant research. Everyday, there are new medicines in the market & the doctor should be updated about that. Moreover, the surgeons have to be very accurate in their work. Everyday, the work of doctors is like a new lesson. Hence, is known as practise.

Because they are getting experence on you. they are not perfect yet so they are called practiceners. In other types of medicine theory you did not find such world Practice.

Practise is essential for perfection and since each case is different altogether from similar one since each individual is different ,a doctor needs to keep on practising to keep on improving his ability to treat patients.

because right from the time they leave med school they are practising their skills on people like us and if they got perfect and what they do they would be called God right (kidding). the basic reason is what i told above regarding the practising skills part.
