There are a few different ways so spell it and say it. It is also different for different branches here are a few way to spell it, and for what branch
1) Ooh-rah (Marine Corps)
2) Oo-rah (Marine Corps)
3) Hoo-ah (Army)

The military says HUA, which in essence ability Heard, Understood & recognized/popular. The Air stress says "Air capacity." No kidding. the military say Hooah! The Marines is a thunderous Ooraahh!!! Hooah & typhoon propose the same component in some language (sorry I have forgotten), yet both propose value!

The original seems to have been WW I Marines picking up "Urrah" from some Turks, of all people. ("Kill!") The Army, especially those stupid enough to jump from functioning aircraft, picked it up, almost, but wound up with "Hoo-ah."
