do you have any tattoos already? i am working on a full back tattoo right now and i will tell you that it takes a lot of time and a lot of money and a lot of patience. i have sat for 11 1/2 hours so far and will have atleast 9 left before it is finished... then i'll have to get touchups. it is a lot of work and a lot of pain. but the pain is totally bearable and totally worth it. do you have a good design in mind? it helps if you have a great custom tattoo artist that can take your ideas and shape them into something wonderful. feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Do you have any tattoos on your back, because if so, you have a general idea of what it will feel like.
I'd say the most sensitive spots are in areas with thinner skin. For example, the higher you to up to your neck, the closer you get to your sides, and the backbone area are probably the places you will experience the most discomfort. The good thing is, you will definitely not experience all of it in one day if you find it uncomfortable.
I have a lower back tattoo and a tattoo on the back of my neck and between my shoulders. I didn't find the lower back tattoo very painful. It goes from side to side, and the most discomfort I felt was the tips of the tribal on my side and the small part on my spine, but it wasn't unbearable.
The tattoo on my neck wasn't unbearable either, the most sensitive spot was on the spine and near my hairline.
Good luck, and like others have said, it will be expensive.

Is this your first tattoo? if so you might want to think about a full back piece, tattoo's DO hurt a little bit! I have some tribal on my lower back and hurt for a few minutes before it went numb. Maybe get something small somewhere else and see if you can handle the pain, or see if you can do the back tat in two sessions to minimize the pain and time involved. hope this helps!

Yes, it will hurt, especially on the shoulder blades. You should be absolutely sure you want to do this before you go see a tattoo artist. Be careful of who you choose to do this tattoo and do some research on it first. Make sure the person you choose is experienced and uses clean equipment and a new needle for each client.

Might want to learn about the process and safety procedures that should be followed when tattooing...Also, make sure to do your homework on artists and such.
also...ummm spelling....pet peeve
should be...
piece, not peace
know, not no
also - does it hurt....why are you considering a FULL backpiece if you're concerned about whether it's going to hurt. Maybe start with a single tattoo and then add slowly throughout time?

this is assuming that you mean to cover your whole back with mostly color or some detail or solid...
it will probably be at least three visits...
you will want to wait at least a weak between visits
it will take around 10-20 hours total time or more depending on the detail/lines/coloring/size and the speed of the artist...
unless you are really good with pain, and in very good health I wouldn't want to be getting a tat for more then four hours.
it could cost around a 1500 to 3000 or more. I would think around 2000 if you go to a decent artist.
then again... *shrug* its just an educated guess.

First of all,of course it's gonna hurt!!!!! Like most of the answers you will get will be that it's expensive. But one most important one will be NO ALCOHOL to be consumed before putting tattoo as it's gonna make you bleed more.Go with a small tattoo first and see if you can handle it.

Its gonna hurt, its gonna cost a lot of money for a good piece and its gonnna take more than one session.
Research your artist and make sure you are getting exactly what you want and that you are okay having the design on your forever. You get what you pay for and cheap tattoos aren't good and good tattoos aren't cheap!

they hurt most on the softer skin and over your spine. all you need to know is that it will cost you an arm and a leg and maybe your left nut if you have a lot of detail and it will take forever and you might have to have it done in 2 or 3 parts

YES it hurts but, mostly on the spine and is tolerable, if your
piece is to be colored in you and the artist may need more
than one sitting which will also make it more tolerable.
just do it. are you man or mouse.
