think of general topics and ask her questions; remember "HOW" ie HOME, OTHERS, WEATHER and pick one of these general topics to start the conversation.
ie HOME: Have you always lived in this city? or What do you think of underground houses?
OTHERS: sports teams, classmates, who's your best friend, etc.
WEATHER: snow days, beach vacations, rain forecast...
The trick is to ask her a question that she cannot answer with a yes or no/one word answer.

First off consider yourself lucky you have a girlfriend if you can't think of anything to say. Heres a tip for getting the conversation started, comment on something shes wearing (nicely of course, dumbass, make it complimentary) Girls love when you notice their hair or shoes or clothing, it's usually sure fire. If that doesn't work try to remeber the things you have in common and go from there. If those topics are getting stale, subscribe to Maxim, they can help you out.
