Maybe get zippers and place them in the shape of a "Z" and allow the children to unzip the zippers. Once the children have played with the zippers write a large Z on a piece of poster board or chalk board at the front of the classroom. Then get a piece of poster board and draw a picture of a zebra on it without stripes.....and next to the picture write the letters e-b-r-a Cut strips of black construction paper to symbolize the stripes on the zebra and have the children place or help you place the stripes on the zebra and once the zebra has become striped, you can write the "Z" in. Just a couple ideas.

My three year old is really into animals so We went over Zoo animals when we went over the letter Z. Zebra was Eric's favorite. Have them color pictures of Zebras and the letter Z. Have them draw what a zoo looks like. Hang pictures up of Zoo's around the classroom. Zipper is another good one to introduce, most preschoolers know how to work one and for the ones who don't its a good idea to teach them now. Get practice zippers or their coats out to work on this!. Good luck with your lesson!
