Yes, you can they did the experiment on Mythbusters they folded a football size piece of paper 11 times.

I watched Myth Busters tonight. The show it was on is called "Underwater Car. They had heard it could not be done. So they rolled paper out to the size of a foot ball field.They managed to fold that 11 times.

I actually did it 8 times.
It was a long time ago. It was a VERY thin HUGE piece of paper, the size of a room. The engineers used it to layout circuts for microchips. They then took pictures of it and shrunk it down a gazillion times to fabricate the chips.
