If you like Special K then you should try Product 19. Slightly different but very similar. Personally I like it with blueberries or bananas. Rice Krispies or Chex is also good.

It isn't just the calories. If you get better nutrition or more satisfied from a higher calorie cereal, it may be a better cereal. I LOVE Grape Nuts. Very high carb but it is so healthy, so is bran cereal.

I personally like Blueberry Morning too.

And don't shy away from kiddie cereal just because they are high in sugar. They are making them with lower sugar now, AND if you buy a less sweet tasting cereal and then end up dumping a cup of sugar on it because it tastes horrible? Well, you are kind of defeating the purpose. A sugary cereal might be just fine the way it is and be healthier for you than sweetening it yourself, unless you sweeten with something else like fruit.

For good satisfying breakfast, don't forget the PROTEIN. A slice of cheese, a piece of chicken. Whatever...lean protein.

I believe total has more vitamins and nutrients compared to special k. However, I feel those cereals aren't the best for your health, but they are not bad. Cereals by brands like Kashi provide way more whole grains (for fiber), protein, and other nutrients. The whole grains will keep you feeling more satisfied and your glucose levels stable. If you eat a cup of special K versus a cup of whole grain cereal, you will notice a difference with your level of hunger later.
