I had a lady come in whom i know by name only. She asked out of the blue if i ever went out to have a drink every now and then. I replied yes. She then made the statement we will have to have a drink one night. There was a few moments of silence and she then asked if I was single. Ive got two questions, (1) Ive been out of the dating game since I lost my wife a few years ago. DId this lady "hit" on me or was this a casual conversation. and (2) how can i approach her outside of work in a casual way without just knocking on someones door I barely know? Thanks for any advice.

Sounds to me that she did hit on you, and then next time you talk to her ask her where she would like to meet up. Then you two could just meet up somewhere, where you not just nocking on someones door. then you would be able to get to know her, and not be in an uncomfortable situation. Dont worry about buisness, what the boss dont know, wont hurt you. Especially if you just so happen to bump into her outside of work.

Yes, she was hitting on you and made it plain that she would like to get to know you better. The next time she comes in, find a way to let her know that you will be going out for a drink after work at .......place. Unless she is dumb she will pick up the hint and drop by if at all possible or maybe she will ask if she can join you. Any rules about a customer asking a sales person out?

yes she was hitting on you and you can take her up on her date then while you are out ask her for her nimber or where she lives or ask her out on another date if you liked her enough on the first one. you got to go get it you can't stay alone forever
