You need to get a dog crate for your puppy. and it needs to stay there until it is time for its potty break. This may be several times throughout the day. If you leave it to run free in your house, you are only creating your own problem. If its in the crate, it cannot pee in your house, simple as that. There may be times when he relieves himself in his crate, but if you put the time to do this right, he will learn to hold it in. Don't expect too much from the puppy at the beginning though This is called Crate Training your puppy. It's also not cruel to leave him in his crate. He will see the crate as his "safety" zone, or his room. Also, they're not gonna like the crate at the beginning. They're going to scream and wreck havoc, but ignore it. If you give in to the screaming, its gonna know that it will get your attention by simply screaming, and believe me, it will drive you nuts! Put a blanket around the crate so it can't see anything outside, or give it a toy. A kong filIed with peanut butter (peanut butter won't kill it) will keep him busy and quiet for a while. You can buy these kongs at Petco or Petsmart. Make sure you get it the correct size because there are different sized kongs. After 2 weeks, the screaming will stop, I'll guarantee it. Puppies relieve themselves after they sleep, eat and exercise (walk, playing, etc). Your puppy should only be eating twice a day. If you feed them too much, your going to have a problem with the potty issue. I would not be training him to relieve himself on newspaper or a litter box. You're making matters worse because by doing this, you're letting your puppy know that its okay to relieve himself inside the house...which is the problem that you're trying to fix. Give him several potty breaks throughout the day and try to develop a schedule. He will learn to hold it in with time.

I have a dachshund and she or he's now a year. i imagine some canine breeds are more effective susceptible to being more effective powerful at homestead breaking, and some are thoroughly obdurate (like my little lady). I did repetition such as her. It took her about 3 months to finally get the concept of "ok I even ought to pass to the lavatory on the pup pad", and now she not in any respect has an twist of destiny. besides the actual shown reality that some human beings say you may want to not enable your canine to apply a pup pad, and that you may want to take them out on the grass. in any case, What I did with my pup is about each 25-30 min (the first day) i might want to positioned her on the pad, with restricted area for her to flow round it and wait a pair minutes and allow her pass. If she had an twist of destiny on the carpet, i might want to positioned her at modern-day on the pup pad. absolutely, it sucks homestead breaking a pup. yet i wish I helped somewhat. Congrats on your new pup in spite of the undeniable fact that! sturdy success! EDIT- the reason I recomend pup pads is because, I stay in an house the position i will't get outdoors and allow her pass for all time, second even as i pass to artwork and that i leave her interior the kitchen, she desires to pass to the lavatory someplace. absolutely, because she has been homestead damaged I even haven't to any extent further all started to have her have any injuries or the different undesirable habit come from her using the pup pad.
