I've asked this very same question, especially to religious "zealots" and all answers have been, "There are things that were not meant to know...this is one of them."
So having heard this leads one to believe that the Bible is incomplete, so how could one fully put faith into something that's not accurate?
Adam & Eve, Cain & Abel...where did this other woman come from (unless incest is in the picture)?
God didn't just create Adam & Eve, unless He created another woman for Cain, and if that's the case why isn't this part of the Bible or any other religious text?

Okay, I'm not religious, don't believe in the bible, etc., but if any of that muck were true.......keep in mind that the bible says that Adam & Eve were the first human beings which God created. Nowhere in the bible does it say they were the only human beings he created. There could've been a hundred people living in Eden at the beginning. OR, maybe God created an Adam & Eve on each of the continents, and the various races got their start that way. OR Adam & Eve had daughters as well as sons and the bible writers, being the male chauvinists and sexist men that they obviously were, didn't mention their daughters 'cause women were considered second class citizens in those days--so Cain, Able & Seth "knew" their own sisters as wives and we had the first cases of incest........nobody knows.

Genesis 4:17 says, "Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch." Who was his wife? It is implied in the biblical text that Cain married one of his sisters. Several facts lead us to this conclusion.
First, it is clear that Adam and Eve had a number of children. Genesis 5:4 says, "After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters." Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

Adam and Eve are the first BELIEVERS IN GOD. Not the first people. People don't get that. I swear, there was a verse in the bible that said that only the children of Adam and Eve will be saved or something. If they were the only ones, then who are the people that won't be saved? God had already created other humans, but they were not important enough to be mentioned.

Cain went into banishment in “the land of Fugitiveness to the east of Eden,” taking with him his wife, an anonymous daughter of Adam and Eve. (Ge 4:16, 17; compare 5:4, also the much later example of Abraham’s marriage to his half sister Sarah, Ge 20:12.) Following the birth of his son Enoch, Cain “engaged in building a city,” naming it for his son. Such city may have been but a fortified village by present standards, and the record does not state when it was completed. His descendants are listed in part and include men who distinguished themselves in nomadic stock raising, the playing of musical instruments, and the forging of metal tools as well as those who were known for their practice of polygamy and their violence. (Ge 4:17-24) Cain’s line ended with the global Flood of Noah’s day.

Adam and Eve did have alot of children, sons and daughters. Adam lived 930 years so he had a lot of time to make babies.
I assume that one of his daughters became a widow and Cain married her.
Yes, he married his sister but that was ok back then because God meant for Adam and Eve and their children to populate the earth.

The Bible doesn't give the name of Cain's wife except that she was a blood relative of Cain. Read Genesis 4:16-17.

Cain's wife would have been his sister I believe. This is not as grose as it sounds. Remember Adam and Eve were made perfect. So their genetic make up would have been perfect too. Meaning their children were highly unlikely to have genetic flaws. Therefore when Cain and his wife had children then their Children would not have been likely to have genetic flaws. I'm probably not explaining this very well so please check out the links if you are interested.

Not so. The Bible says that God created Adam and Eve. It did not state that He stopped with them. I believe that God created others after He sent them from the garden. Cain did not marry his sister.

two possibilities arise. either adam and eve had daughters that wouldn't have been recorded that went to Cain. Or God created a wife for him. I think the first makes the most sense
