Most of the Sony Cybershot models are good cameras. But there are literally over a dozen Cybershots on the market today, so your question is not very specific. The Sony T series, the slimline cameras, are excellent models. Their picture quality, in the same modes & settings, is comparable, and in some cases, better than some slimline Nikons & Canons. They also have the BEST close-up macro modes, rivaling some dedicated SLR macro lens. Most of them have Zeiss glass, which is a well respected optics manufacturer. And Sony actually makes the CCDs for most of the point & shoot cameras on the market today, so sensor quality is rarely an issue.
Just make sure you buy from a reputable dealer. There are a lot of scam artists with slick looking websites out there. Check with www.resellerratings.com before making ANY online purchase, or just shop at a local camera specialty store.

I've never owned a Cybershot, but yes, they are very good cameras. They have some of the best optics in the business. Carl Zeiss is a legend in the lens making industry. Zeiss lenses are used on some of the best camera's ever made (like Hasselblad). They are also quite popular in the movie industry. Any camera with a Carl Zeiss lens on it will be a good camera because Zeiss won't allow their lenses to be used on inferior products.

I can only speak for my camera which is excellent. Nov 1 last year I bought the Sony CyberShot DSC-H2. Love it.Excellent 8X10 enlargements. 6 megapixels, 12X optical zoom, image stabilizer, excellent on batteries, comes with batteries and battery charger. Has 1 second shot delay. Some camers take 3, 4 seconds or more. Can actually be bought for about $300....I paid too much at $41 more. Avoid Cybershot DSC-M2. it's a subcompact but image quality not so hot.

I love my 7.2 megapixel cybershot. I've gotten a lot of complements on photos I have taken with it. I am, however, thinking of upgrading to the sony alpha because I would like a little more zoom power. So you just need to evaluate your needs in a camera. If you want a point and shoot cybershots are fantastic!

I have a SONY CyberShot 2.1 Megapixels since 2001 with it's Lithium-Ion SONY battery, charger, and original SONY carrying case.....Wanna' buy it? Hahahaha. :)
Yes, everything that SONY makes is good. I have this camera since 2001, and is still working like the first day, not a single problem ever. - Same thing with my SONY Trinitron 27" TV, it is like 15 years old now, and it looks as good as the first day I bought it.
So take my advice, in Miami they say in Spanish "If it is Goya it has to be good" (speaking of some food brand name), and I honestly have to tell you that If it is SONY it has to be good!!
SONY makes some of the best electronic equipments of everything, no doubt about it.
I hope this help.

I'm on my second - a 5.1 megapixel. Its a great balance of price, quality and size. What's the point of buying a camera so large that you can't take it with you? Would definitely recommend! Great prices on eBay, but make sure they include charger and memory card.

Depends. The ultra slim cameras they have do not have the same picture quality of lets say Canons SD series. They are decent cameras but I feel Canon cameras have better picture quality than them.

i could get a digicam, considering the fact which you seize thoughts on a digicam and you will on no account be waiting to pass back and get those photos returned and you will purchase an iPod touch each time... yet i'm somewhat biased because of the fact i'm a photos freak.
