What is the easiest way to get from the port back to the airport? (and vice versa).
Also, where should we stay when we fly in the night before? Thanks

It's a short cab ride, but it'll cost you between $20-$25. The port is down in Old San Juan. It's a beautiful area with some great restaurants and a lot of brick paved streets. I've stayed at the Normandie Hotel there and it's nice, but it's not quite right down in the area of the port. You can definately find something closer.

a taxi will take you to the port for about 20-25 (it is the only way)unless you stay at a hotel that has transfer service. I would suggest the Wyndham El San Juan it is right across the street from the Cruise ports

About 15 minute cab ride. I'd stay at the Hilton or Marriot. Old town is great. Enjoy.
