I believe a lot of brands of plasma TV's use the same plasma displays since there aren't many plasma display manufacturers so you MIGHT be able to get away with that. BUT I've never taken a plasma TV apart so I don't know how difficult that might be. Plus, how would you even get another display? From another broken plasma TV? Might end up being too much work for not very much results.

It's done. There was some earlier questions about the cost effectiveness of replacing a display. The information gathered bore out that it would take 3 mos, as it has to be done at a repair facility and cost almost as much as a new TV. All the money is in the display on these TVs. The electronics that drives them is really pretty cheap.. Put legs on it and use it for a coffee table. Really sorry to hear of this for you. live and learn huh?

Hmmm... how do I say this NO. You can fix it for a very expensive price and long wait. But this would be more expensive than cleaning the mess and saving up for a new one. Plasma and LCD televisions are extremely expensive to fix, so are projection televisions. Your best bet would be buying a new one and go with LCD if you have to have something expensive. They last longer and aren't as expensive.

as the PDP (plasma display panel) is the most expensive part of a plasma tv it may not be economically viable to buy another panel bearing in mind that it will need to be fitted by proffessionals. you cannot realistically use the panel from another brand as most brands incorperate features unique to their sets so what may work in one set may not work in another. i would claim in the contents insurance for accidental damage and get a new one.

it depends on the manufacturer. u could check online, or call them for spare parts. i have a panasonic plasma, and i can go online and buy w/e spare parts i need. in ur case, i would give them a call, and take it to a local specialist to install the glass. not all is lost quite yet

If you're gonna get another 42 inch, why not just sell your old one for half the orignal price? and state that its broken.
Its really really really very expensive to have it repaired. and its not a good idea to repair it yourself unless you're a technician. hehe

YOU CANNOT FIX IT...... BEST THING TO DO IS FIND A NEW ONE BUY IT AND SWAP IT AND TAKE THE MESSED UP ONE BACK AND SAY THAT YOU OPENED THE BOX AND IT WAS BROKEN......THEN GET YOUR MONEY BACK..... NEXT TIME GET THE SERVICE PLAN .....
