The new airport is concreted modern. You may like it or just hate it. It still has some problem as it was newly opened - too less toilet, unskilled staff and bad signage. I hope we will see the improvement soon. Check out the links below;

Suvanarbumbhi (Soo waa na boom) is plagued with problems that have been well documented in all the Thai newspapers both Thai and English language. Look up the Bangkok Post and the Nation websites for more info.
The roof leaks, the air con is inadequate, the floor tiles are cracked, the revolving doors don't revolve, the runways, taxiways and aprons are cracking and subsiding, the concourse is long, long, long and the gates too far from anywhere.
As it has been designated a 'silent' airport there are no departure or passenger notices either. Look at the screens for information.
Plagued by corruption throughout its construction the pigeons are now coming home to roost so to speak.

Overall i liked it alot! very pretty and i liked those air conditioning vents they had..But like alot of people said it was very very hot inside.
BUT the staff really needed work or maybe they were just new, In December 2006 I was connecting at Suvarnabhumi to Wattay, the staff ( a very,very nice cute young girl) directed me to go in the wrong direction and i had ended up back out with the people that were coming in from Bangkok to fly out.I even went through immigration before that and got a stamp for the hour i was there in Thailand LOL. they were like how the hell did he end up here??? ..I passed out front and i have never been hassled for a cab so much in my entire life. it was like 100 people there pining for your business.....anyway, so i had to check back in with what seemed like a mile long line and pay a departure tax for flying out... i barely made my flight into Laos. Next tI'me im sticking with my instincts when i fly through there and not taking staff advice lol...Besides that i loved it! Fun challenge there

Yes. The airport looks good but up close it is not great. It is very hot because the air con isn't' t strong enough, its a long way to the gates and the toilets all seem to be dirty. Go to the website for pics.
