I find myself loosing or maintaining my weight without exercise but am wondering if it is due to this very cold apartment I live in

i dont know about cold climate but cold and also high altitude your lose weight in your sleep .I have lost about 45 pounds in about six months and my wife about 30 .. so well its definitely the climate..

You'd have to do alot of shivering to burn up extra calories!
Generally the tendancy in cold climates is towards fat as an insulator. Whales, penguins, polar bears, seals, etc. Even Laplanders and native Aluit tended towards fat to help insulate themselves from the cold.
They aren't getting as much of the old style fat these days, and that has caused them heart problems. Those of us in the "near" north just use the cold and snowy days as an excuse to stay inside. We usually gain weight in the winter that has to be burnt off each spring.

I don't think apartment temperatures are that drastic for your body to be burning off excess weight... otherwise, there would be "artic weight centers" all over the place! You probably are doing something you are not aware of, such as eating less, differently, etc.

it's a lucky problem!

I don't think so cuz in winter,the metabolism of the human body naturally slows down since u don't sweat,likely to stay indoors from the cold(i mean less outdoor activities).

well usually when im cold i feel like eating more to maybe keep me warm inside?? and when you sweat dont you lose weight?? But you are very lucky if you lose weight in the cold!

never heard that you can loose the pounds with cold, but good for u
