technically year 0 would be as soon as the earth was formed. and throughout time, nobody has ever recorded the year as "year 0" the romans weren't considering the birth of Christ to be year 0. AD was created in the year 512, using the BC and AD system (creation dating). Also, in the year 512, how would someone know the year that Jesus was born. supposing that someone could track back through the scriptures that far, the length of the year changed some during the time of the romans, so it would have been neigh on impossible.

Ever wondered why history is dating stuff using dates like 100BC or 200AD. It has to do with the birth of Jesus. So technically the day he was born was the beginning of the year 0 because BC means Before Christ and that AD means Anno Domini (In the year of our Lord).

But it is ambiguous, if AD is "IN the year of our Lord" that would mean that it includes the time all the way to the moment of his birth. So there would not be a year 0.

No, I'm pretty sure there isn't. They have different timelines however, such as "AD" Anno Domini, or Year of Our Lord. "BC" Before Christ, and "CE" Common Era. I'm not too sure how it works, but I think that C.E was to solve the Year 0 problem.

Yes. This (if you believe in him) was the year of Jesus's birth. Before this was B.C., which counts down instead of up, and afterwards comes our time, A.D. which counts up.
