Iodine isn't normally a problem for most people. It has been in use as an antiseptic for longer than most people have been alive, and is still used alone, and in solutions such as Betadine, the #1 surgical scrub on the market.
One of the great things about Iodine as a topical antiseptic is it is usually painless. There are people who are allergic to iodine and solutions containing iodine, but it usually manifests it's self as a mild rash, swelling at the site is possible, and itching.
The color is just staining from the iodine, and will fade in a few days, or less. The wrinkles, swelling , and other symptoms should be gone soon, also.
Your reaction wasn't really unusual, and you should be fine in no time. If your allergic reaction was severe, you would have shown the worse effects within a very short time, so relax.

Iodine will is not dangerous. When I was little my mother used to put it on cuts and scrapes to prevent infection. Sounds like you washed a little too long and got wrinkled skin.

The last time I saw something like that was a puppy we found on the road. He had deep wounds on his stomach and we had to have the vet stitch them up so they could heal right. The vet said he could almost bet that someone had used that puppy as bait for training fighting Pit Bulls, and then dumped the puppy to get rid of him. So to his way of thinking, it couldn't be anything but dog bites. We adopted that dog, the wounds healed with the stitches and the antibiotics, and nobody ever hurt that dog again. I would wonder, has your boxer been tangling with another dog?

i would not recommend doing it again. When you spill an acid, it is always vital that you wash the exposed area with soap and water immediately for approximately 10 - 15 minutes. Burning and itchiness is natural. If itching, burning, or irritation persists. contact your physician or the Poison Control Center.
