Unfortunately no. Now I do believe in God and nourish my faith on a daily basis. However, people aren't made to blindly follow hence why we have choice. I believe this is the reason why the bible does exist. A historical reference to the wonders and miracles of God either directly on indirectly through man or whatever else God deems fit to justify his or hers supreme power on this earth.
Believing in God or having faith in the things in life that go unseen is not dillusional, a crutch or false hope. The bible is a reference and can be interpreted differently by those who find help and healing in its words.
I would say the bible is a historical refence of the acts of God in real life situations and with real life problems (based on many years ago). Doctors use references (Medical journals etc.), so do lawyers (Case studies) and financial planners and many ther professions. The bible is a reference that can be found in many walks of life, faiths and professions.
The things that occur in the bible are to inspire, guide and dictate choices that are to better man kind on a daily basis. There is something in the bible for any situation and occasion and one verse may mean a completly different thing to another yet still have spiritual value.
Here is a question (for those reading who question the bibles legitamicy), how many individual copies of Harry Potter do you think a person owns. Now how many individual copies of the bible do you think a person owns? Most people I would say more than one, some have one every place they spend time at (car, office, purse, gym bag etc.).
To answer the question, no being No.1 doesn't signify Gods existance. The reason that God exists is why the bible is No.1!
God Bless and Happy New Year to all!

I don't think this alone proves God's existence. Fortunately there are so many more evidences of God that anyone who is open to at least seeking the truth will see that God is real. The fact that the Bible is the best selling book indicates how many people are searching for the truth; are wanting to connect to the supreme being who orchestrated all the wonders of life; and are aware that we are not just an accident but that we are part of an awesome plan of creation.

man, what kind of question is this. This only proves that some dude in a print house is getting rich. I could go to china, write a book about how china is great and the "1billion + " chinese will buy it and it will be the best selling book of all time. Does this really proves that China is great?
The bible being No1 best seller has nothing to do with the existance of God, nor the truth of Christianity.

No. All it proves is that a lot of people believe in God's existance and therefore feel compelled to buy 10 copies of the Bible. Just because it is number one doesn't prove anything about Him. People also ate up the DaVinci Code...

Yes, it is a Book containing the Word of God. No other books written 2000 years ago can be compared to it about the historical, ethical and artistic values.

The Bible is very reliable even if it was not the best selling book.
The Bible is God's life manual for us and He communicates with us through His Word!

Lol... it's strange to prove God with selling his book, you prove God with sales??? Than look Muslims give the Quran as charity, most of the time there is no selling... how can you want to sell the words of God... i think it's priceless... anyway Christians seem to have become very materialistic
