You can go to www.petsmart.com and you will see groups that are around you. That is a good way to find the no kill shelters and they always need help. Also go to the yellow pages and see what is listed under animal shelters. Don't forget to see if you have a local chapter of a SPCA and they may not have a web site. We have a small chapter here and need all the help we can get. We were lucky to have someone who let us use her kennel so that we could save more dogs. Before that we had animals in our own homes and anywhere where someone would give a good temporary good home. We need help at the kennels and with fundraising, walking dogs and are glad to have whatever time someone can give. Even your local animal shelter or pound needs help. It's hard to help because most of the animals will get put down shortly but then you have to remember that you gave them an extra hug and a walk and make them feel better and some do get adopted. A really good thing to do there(on your own) is keep track of the lost animals in the paper and then you go see if they are at the shelter and you call the ads. Some people just don't understand to call there and that animals are misidentified. And make sure there is room enough for people to put up their lost animal posters. You will save many dogs from being put down and help return them to their owners. And then there may be a Humane Society. Sign up for the national chapter and they will email you their newsletter and let you know what you can do to help-like write your congressman to support the bills that are coming up for vote that help with animal cruelty and such. There's lots to do. Welcome aboard. Keep my email and if you get really involved, feel free to email me and I will be glad to help you with your ideas and thoughts.

all you need to type is "animal shelter" and then add your city. For example, I'm in Chicago, so I'd type "animal shelter Chicago". A bunch of animal shelters pop up and you can just look through each shetler's website and see which one suits you the most. Each site will have a volunteer section. Good Luck!!

In most all cities have a dog pound. They have what they call a dog park, this is where I plan on volunteer with my son. This way you can take the dogs for a walk there in the park.
Use the phone-book yellow pages.
I'm not sure what you question may be. What are the questions they ask? Best bet is to go the pound or call. I ask what jobs they may have and walking the dogs were one of them. Volunteer always get noticed so type that.

Just go to www.petfinder.com. They have lists of all the local shelters in your area. I think all you have to do is put in your zip code.
