To gain a pound, you must eat 3,500 calories...same is true to lose a pound...you must cut 3,500 calories from your diet. Best to try to cut about 300 calories per day through diet and burn the other 200 per day with exercise. Doing that will help you to lose approximately one pound per week, depending on what you are eating and how often. Always best to eat little healthy meals throughout the day, then three bigs meals. Eating often (and healthy) keeps your metabolism going all day without the crashing of eating just three big meals. Don't skip meals as your body will slow down your metabolism as it thinks that you are starving and goes into survivial mode. Good luck!
