Dana is a really feminine sounding name.

Who knows except that Dana was and always has been first a Male name. It was only in the mid 1900's that it became a girls. It was at first seen just like you see the name Michael for a girl.

So I guess the "moral" to this is, If we just wait long enough, things can completely change.

I have a female cousin named Michael (after her father) she hasn't had a problem with it. I don't see a problem with Dana for a guy. Its all in how they see themselves. I can see where it would be confusing for other people, but these people with unisex names are used to it and it doesn't bother them-unless they are insecure of course.
