Good question. Very little is known about tickling. It doesn't seem to be genetic, as you find numerous instances where one sibling is ticklish everywhere, while another sibling isn't ticklish at all, and another is only ticklish on one or two spots. Even reactions differ, as one might laugh uncontrollably and beg for mercy when tickled (I fall into this category : - ( ), while another will have uncontrollable spasmodic movements, but not laugh at all. Some people seem to grow out of their ticklishness, while others are ticklish all their lives (again, my situation). Scientists are not even sure why the body would react in this manner. One idea is it was a reaction to guard against insects and other things crawling on our ancestors; the ticklish sensation would draw their attention to the unwanted 'visitor'. But if that is true, why are some ticklish and others not? I like to think that we ticklish folks are the genetically superior group, as our genes realized that having stinging, biting things crawling all over us was NOT a good idea!

all people is different. some people are particularly ticklish together as others are not ticklish in any respect. maximum people who say that they don't seem to be ticklish at the instant are not yet some people say that because of the fact they do no longer decide to get tickled (weird and wonderful thought). some people like getting tickled because of the fact its exciting or because of the fact they want interest. i'm maximum ticklish on my ribs yet my neck and ft come exceedingly close. What approximately you,the place are you ticklish?
