Hi. My laptop's hard drive was replaced--meaning I lost everything on it. I use a Mac and had Microsoft Office on it. I still have the install cd but no more key codes. Can I install without a key code if I had it on that computer before? If not, can I just buy a key code from Microsoft instead of a brand new Office install CD?

As long as you have a legitimate CD, you should be able to reinstall it. To get the key code:

Find My Product Key / CD Key
WinXP: http://www.mvps.org/marksxp/WindowsXP/prodid.php
Office: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011508341033.aspx

Next time you install and register, when the screen comes up where you enter the key, after you enter the key, press the Print Screen key on the keyboard. This will take a "picture" of the screen. See if you can paste it into a Word document to keep on disk or print. If you cannot, be sure to write it down.
