Blood clots are general warm to the touch and painful to touch. If you think that you have one you should get checked out right away these can be life threatening. If at all possible keep the site lower then the level of your heart. You do this because if it brakes free it can travel to your heart or brain which is not a good thing.

I once had a blood clot in my leg that made my chest hurt so bad & had me so out of breath, I thought I was having a heart attack. My blood pressure was raised but it was probably more from the panic of thinking I was having a heart attack at such a young age.
I am young & very healthy. It was just one of those bizarre things. If you have trouble with blood clots, consider fish oil to help thin the blood or talk to your doctor about prescription blood thinners. A bllod clot can lead to a stroke. Seek professional help.

Actually the clot is not warm to the touch, rather the area where the clot is can fell warm to the touch. Why do you feel you may have one?

more than likely. when i had a cast on my lower leg i got a huge knot in my calf that i couldn't get stretched out. when i called the doctor he became concerned and told me to get to the ER (because his office was 2-1/2 hours away) and have it checked out to make sure it wasn't a clot (which thankfully it wasn't)
if you suspect you have one get to the doc/ER ASAP they can be life threating if not treated
