It is possible, especially if you're allergic to spiders. However, to last for a year, could be a sign of some other skin problem. To be on the safe side, tell your doctor about it the next time your there. In the meantime, try a topical allergy lotion to rub directly on it. Benedryl makes one, but may be hard to find depending on where you live. Not all the drug stores by me carry it.

I had a spider bite that took 4 months to heal. It left a permanent scar and it itched for maybe 9 months or so. I saw the spider on my leg, but it was so small i though it was a dab of dried mud until it bit me and then it felt like someone burned me with a match. The spider was about the size of 4 pinheads and I could not believe how much that tiny bite hurt and how long it lasted. In my case, the itching was not from an allergy - it was caused by a neurotoxin from the bite, so nothing provided any releif.

Hello...I am highly allergic to spiders. Years back I was bitten on the face, which resulted in this "bump" that still exists, thought faint. Your main problem may be an allergic reaction, and the mark left behind maybe be the "scar" from the initial bite mark. ALways keep benadryl on hand, as well as the topical benadryl lotions and contact a dermatologyst.
