I agree - the next time you are in a falling jetliner you should pray to someone.

Not necessarily. I heard one pilot's last words on a flight recorder and it was something like, "Oh S***!" Granted, he probably had some hope left and I think he was still busy trying to do something with the plane even after a catastrophic structural failure.

Yeah, i agree. When i was in 7th grade my teacher gave us a pretty interesting statistic, 90% of Americans believe in a higher power, and 94% of americans said they prayed. What are those 4% praying to?

Maybe yes maybe no. It depends on the individual. Many people that I have known have stated that they were people of faith until something bad happened and they left their faith. Others who never demonstrated a faith in a higher power turned to God in times of crisis.

I agree.
Have you heard the adage:
There are no atheist in the foxhole.

I question the existance of God, heaven and hell, but just before I turn the ignition on I ask God to keep me safe.

The Atheists would be screaming so loud to God that you couldn't hear yourself pray.

The plane is falling fast and the Atheists are praying to God," Oh God I believe" Please save me God, Oh God please save me"

Then the Captain says over the intercom, Fooled you!

I believe with all my heart in this very statement: For every man who tells me he doesn't believe there's a God, all he's really telling me is that life hasn't challenged him just right ---YET!

Well, I'd probably have a "WHOA @*(#+@ MO@#*(@(*FU#()@!!!" moment, don't know that I would necessarily ask a god.

Not to mention your reaction in an unusual, emotionally charged instant when you're possessed by your most visceral emotions really isn't the best judge of whether or not you should change your life.

'There are no atheists in foxholes' isn't an argument against atheists. It's an argument against foxholes.

.............no................ i would jump out of the emergency exit because it has been known that very rarely some people have actually survived hitting the ground from 10000 feet if you land in the right place

Absolutely not. I would follow the pilot or flight attendants instructions and prepare to meet what ever awaited. The statement "There are no atheists in foxholes" is bunk.
