if you were not a christian, how do you think you would feel about homosexuality?
do you think that you would still feel that it was generally "wrong" or do you think that you wouldn't have any particular problem with it?
and what would be your thoughts on gay marriage in that situation?

please feel free to elaborate how you imagine your view might be if you were not a believer.

I am not a Christian, but what a lot of people today don't realize is that being gay is not anything new. It has been around since the start of time. Animals do it, especially the mammals. It is population control that nature has to keep the numbers of people on earth down, naturally..a way to make sure that the people on earth have the best possible chance at survival. What I think is that many of those who are the most opposed to it are closet homosexuals to begin with.. a good example is Foley.

As long as it doesn't effect me or my family, I don't care what others do in the privacy of their own bedroom.

Ok, I will tell you something that is outside the narrow views
as reported on conservatie radio/tv/churches/and wherever
else. I am a Christian--Born Again/Baptized in the Holy Ghost. (I'm sure only few of you understand this term.) I am not bound to what any church says. I am not bound by what any political party says. I am not bound by what anyone says except the Lord. I will tell you that I believe with all my heart that if two man can love each other the way I have seen in the last couple of years--I see more love there than many
heterosexual couples. Conversely, I have seen two women
in loving relationships that are so strong and will last a
lifetime. What does God think about it? My feeling is that
the Lord sees and knows and does not condemn any
homosexual. Every person on this earth is free to follow
their destiny. If any person, (for one reason or another)
finds lasting love with a member of the same sex, I believe
the Lord will bless that union.
BUT- Here comes the but--If any person dabbles in that
society just to use someone else for instant sexual gratification with no thought to the long term care of that
partner, then it becomes something dirty and uglyl
But still God will not condemn it--the persons involved will
condemn it and it will fail. We are all free humans. God
does not harm anyone who disagrees with Him. He is
only showing a better way, but everyone is totally free to
go whatever way is best for them!

Homosexuality is just plain old nasty. Whether you're Christian or not a man should not sleep with another man. In the animal species you do not see to male animals sleeping with each other. We can learn a lot from them. Homosexuality is wrong anyway you look at its just wrong. Extremely nasty! God created Adam and Eva not Adam and Tom.

There's nothing in the bible that says love everybody but the gays. There is also nothing that says we get to be the judge and jury of anyone elses sins. As for how I might feel different if I weren't a Christian... I think that is like imagining life without air... I just don't know. Been a Christian since before I was born.... literally. If effects me in so many ways and permeates my life...I don't think I can answer that question....

I am a Christian ... not a bible thumping, Ted Haggard, religious right fundagelical Christian. I'm part of mainline Christianity that believes God's love is unconditional and that faith and reason are not at odds with one another. Whatever a person's sexual orientation is .. they should accept themselves for who they are because I believe God does. We would wind up with fewer Ted Haggard Christian Hypocrites if this were the case.

Christianity and the real problem and not hypothetically is the problem:there is no wrong in reality as the church has brought the closet out in the open more than it has resolved the wrong that it was to the children: they admit money to the wronged but admit it was not the mainstream of lock~step~methodologies of the church and the behavioral sciences that induced this

we have no way out of the charlie manson world today

If I were not a Christian, I would probably think as the world does. As a Christian, I have many friends who are gay; I disagree with their lifestyle choices, but I love them nonetheless. I don't think my views on marriage would change - I was born in the fifties and would have had the viewpoint that the 'typical' family, man, wife, 2.4 kids, cat, dog etc. are the cornerstone to American culture.

If I was not a Christian I'd think it was pretty yuky, but Christians aren't supposed to be judgemental. We are also suppose to be tolerant and suppose to follow the examples of Jesus who did things other people thought were yuky, such as tend to the Lepers and protect a fallen woman.
