Just like on the 101 Dalmations movie, I see a young woman in my neighborhood who looks like her Afghan dog; tall, slender, and long straight hair. Do you ever see other people that resemble their dogs?

I also wonder if some people's dogs have personalities similar to their owners. What do you think?

I ask because if I look anything like my pit/lab mix, then I must be pretty short and stocky (not a good thing in my opinion). I do also feel like my dog has a personality similar to mine.

Just want some opinions on what people think....please no mean comments--this question is just for fun!

I've noticed similarities between a lot of pets and their owners in both appearance and personality. But I've also noticed differences too in appearance at least. But I do believe that people often tend to pick dogs that are similar to themselves such as big men want big dogs, small people often go for small dogs.
Then there are the people who's looks change some so that they look more like their dog. Like a person owning a white poodle and the person starts turning gray(naturally with age). Then they get their long hair cut off because arthritis makes it hard to look after and it fluffs out like the poodle's ears. Ok, so I didn't do it on purpose and didn't even notice it til my daughter pointed it out. But my dog does have a personality like my own.

I don't necessarily believe people look like their dogs. Although I do agree with a previous answer in that a lot of people pick breeds that match their lifestyles and sometimes looks. A friend and I got puppies from the same litter. Hers turned out short and stocky where she is tall and lean. Mine turned out tall and lean where I'm short and well stockier than I'd like.

I do think we can have similar personality traits as our animals. I don't know whether it is picked up by the animal as it grows up or is just a fun coincidence. My dog has turned out to be somewhat hyper and constantly on the go, like me. My friend's dog is more calm and laid back like her.

i've had my toy poodle for just over a year now and i am AMAZED at the little personality quirks we have in common!!! we are more alike than my husband and i or any friend i have.

as far as looks...i dunno, we are both slim but she has reeeeeally long legs (i would kill for legs like that! lol). we both have long hair (i'm her groomer tho so that's not surprising). i guess to be honest we both have a look that might make us appear a little more high maintenance than we are generally speaking not that she has any say in that (i give her a fancy poodle cut, but she is all dog - licking her butt and all! ha ha <- THAT specifically we don't have in common).

being a dog groomer with all the dogs and owners i see, i think there is a grain of truth to the "looking like ur pet" theory. sometimes i think u have to get to know the person and their pet too and usually if they don't xactly look alike, they at least have very similar personalities. this is logical, since people (wise people anyway) usually look for a breed that fits their lifestyle so u almost can't avoid ending up with a pet that is like u.

Taken this try soo many cases its humorous. 16 is the perfect answer yet only for shits and giggles I clicked on 19 in view that it is my breed of selection and that i recognize the kennel that Chili is out of. i have heard from his proprietors besides as some different catahoula proprietors who were advised they were incorrect and they'd in truth an APBT(there have been merle apbts doping up in all probability with the aid of some kennel or yet another crossing both for a better/more desirable capture/bay canine.) save the Wind: I respectfully disagree in accordance to authentic recognize-how of the breed. Being aggressive is a BREED TRAIT. would not require abuse or preparation to make it take position. Its bred into the breed same to catching and killing vermin became bred into all different terrier breeds. it isn't a foul component although until eventually the canine falls into the palms of those who do not recognize a thanks to manage any such canine interior the perfect way. it is the perfect temperament of the breed. Human aggression is a thoroughly diverse count number number and would again be the outcome of breeding only thus crappy breeding practices. 4Her: #'s 4 and 18 are the only breeds no longer in many cases recognized through any respectable kennel club btdt: the Am. Bulldog in its beginning (14) isn't a results of crossing to APBTs. you're precise in that 3 and 18 do have APBTs of their breed beginning strains.

I don't think it's any more than chance that a dog looks like its owner. I am tall and thin, and I got a lab mix who happened to grow up tall and thin, too (with a mutt, there's not guarantees as to appearance). But he has come to reflect some of my personality traits, some of which are good and some are bad. He loves to be outside, like me, but he also tends to have high anxiety (my husband is constantly saying I worry too much). I don't think it's science exactly, but it is a fun coincidence.

I to have noticed a similarity between some people and their pets in the the way they look....however I think it is way more common for pets to reflect at least some of their owners personalities. After all , they are living with you and in some cases have imprinted on the owner.

i dont think that all pets look like their owners, but personality can very much be similar. i have a pom-chee mix and when she was 2 months old she spent most of her time with my sister... haha now i think my dog has short temper just like my sister, and she likes to be treated like a princess =] it just depends on how you treat her, if you act like yourself, your dog will most likely have the same personality as you have.
