I know my password to turn off Filevault, and I can get to the screen where it is decrypting my information. When it finishes, however, I get an error message saying there was an error in copying the files and says filevault will remain on for this computer. What is wrong? Any ideas on how to fix it?

The #1 error when turning off File Vault is that there is not enough free space on the computer to store two copies of your files...

Don't know if the link below will work for you, but I searched on Apple's Discussion page using the term "turn off filevault"

To turn it off, your computer needs to change all the encrypted files into unencrypted ones. For safety reasons, it does not delete the encrypted ones as it goes along but rather it waits until it has decrypted all your files. If there isn't room on your hard drive to hold both the encrypted and the newly decrypted files, the process will abort.
