There are actual "liquid diets" that you can go on that are medically supervised. You lose weight because the fluid goes out of your system quickly. Just like drinking water makes you full, so you don't eat so much. I agree with a prior writer, though. Many times, you WILL put the weight back on once you go back to solid foods.

Dieting by using some liquid supplements (e.g. Slimfast) instead of eating lunch or dinner, will LIMIT your calorie intake and make you lose weight.

Still...excercise!

The diets you're referring to are typically called "cleanses", and they claim that the weight loss stems from your body being cleansed of toxins and blah blah blah. There are absolutely no scientific studies to back up that theory though. You will lose weight on them, but not because your body is being "cleansed". You're losing weight because you are eating no solid foods, sticking to an all liquid diet, and thus reducing your calorie intake DRAMATICALLY, not because toxins are being flushed from the body. The issue with this though is that once you begin eating again the body begins storing what is eaten as fat, as it has gone into starvation mode from the sudden lack of nourishment. Not only that, but none of these diets teach a person how to maintain the weight loss after they go off of them. Not to mention that many people being to feel sick and experience various not-so-good symptoms after being on them for a few days. You will lose weight again, but it is truly only temporary and not a healthy way to go about doing it.

By drinking more water your kidneys will be stimulated, helping to reduce water retention; and, in the process, your body will burn some more calories.

Juice has many important nutrients, they also contain a lot of calories. A calorie in liquid form is the same as a calorie in solid food, so it's important to keep track of the calories in the beverages you drink.

Remember.. You are drinking liquids only.. You will burn fat and lose weight. It is not that safe if you stick to juice only... You need water and plenty of it.

You will slow your metabolism and get fat later on in life if you do that. However, awesome that you care about your health.
