To experience that creative spark of God that lives in you.

"Knowing" isn't the same as "controlling" what you will do.

I would have to guess that if God were controlling everything that everyone does right now, things would be dramatically different.

Congratulations! You're free!

Live well :)

Many of the answers already given here are very close to the mark.

People have argued for centuries over whether there is Pre-destination or Free will. But, the question does not allow for the fact that both can exist at the same time.

It's like going through a door marked "Free Will !" and when you get on the other side and close the door, the other side says "Pre-destination". Since you decided to go through the door without knowing it was pre-destined, it was free will for you.

Actually, even the word Pre-destination is wrong. Fore knowledge is more accurate. God knew, from the moment of creation, everything that would ever happen. If He didn't, things could actually take Him by surprise and He wouldn't be in full control of the Universe. Wouldn't that be a scary God? One that could slip up, just when you were counting on Him.

So, the bible says, He called you by name from the moment of creation. He fore knew everything you will do, but let you do it anyway. He doesn't control you, but He already knows what you are going to do next, and He will let you. Including letting you walk away from Him and destroy yourself and hurt Him.

It's a concept that is difficult for the limited minds of His creation to understand. Coupled with a love to great to fathom.

Now that's free will, brother!

You are not God therefore your choices are still according to your free will. /the fact that God is all knowing does not change your ability to choose.

The illusion of freedom provides justification for our being punished when we choose wrongly.

If you believe in the bible, you don't have any freedom because "Do what I say or I'll torture you for eternity" isn't exactly a choice.

If I create a robot knowing it will kill a man, I am responsible for that death. So an all knowing creator would be responsible for everything. Omniscience and free will are incompatible concepts.
