Maybe, if your acne is mild. The salt might just dry your skin.
It really all depends on your skin.

There are some myths that diet (chocolate, grease) affects acne, but so far, there hasn't been much of a correlation.
Washing your face too much won't help either, you don't want to dry it out.

Over the counter products with an active ingredient such as Salicylic acid (I think this is what is in Clearasil's Daily Cleanse) are usually for very mild acne.

If it gets worse there are Benzoyl Peroxide products that are supposed to be much better because they are much better at treating acne. Most recommend using a 2.5% solution, a 10% solution is unnecessary because a 5% solution has the same effectiveness without the drying effect.

Most likely they'll give you a retinoid such ad Differin (adapalene gel) at 0.1% solution. Though I've heard 0.3% is better at the risk of drying. This gel will try to dry up your zits and removes the top layer of your skin, making your skin more suceptible to sunburn. Supposedly, this treatment is best used in conjunction with benzoyl peroxide.

Another topical treatment, Clindamycin is an antibiotic, to kill the bacteria on your face that might cause acne. Erythromycin pads are also in this category.

If your acne continues to worsen, you can get oral antibiotics from your doctor. Example includes doxxycycline (50 mg capsules), a very low dosage antibiotic, also used for malaria.

If you suspect too high levels of androgens/testosterone in your system, hormonal treatments might work.

Last resort: Accutane. Reserved for the most severe acne, your blood will have to be monitored for weeks in order to make sure your body has no adverse reactions to it.

If you want to step it up, it's probably a good idea to use a topical acne treatment such as benzoyl peroxide or salicyclic acid at low concentrations. When using these, it's recommended to not use them together. Exclusively one or the other. But with either, it's also recommended that you use a moisturizer to prevent overdrying.

Good luck with it all, I hope you see an improvement soon.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots
