Truelly as hard as it is, go through your stuff weed out what you really don't need, doesn't work for you anymore, or you are just holding because maybe one day you'll need it. Have a garage sale at a friends house to get rid of the extra stuff and then take the money you made to get a cool storage system running. Baskets are great, and they help in the sorting of items out to their proper homes. shelves, drawers, etc. to eventually have a place for everything. For the kids stuff, put half their toys in tubs to store away for awhile. Swap these out with their other toys every couple months or so. They will always feel like they have new toys this way without you adding to your caois. Good luck and Blessings

I'm with the others who say decluttering. If you have too much stuff get rid of some. Or store some away and rotate it in and out so it is not part of the everyday jumble of mess.
One place to start with similar aged children is to let all the kids pick a few toys of their very very own, and then keep only the ones that they ALL play with.
You should also have things that are versatile. If it is pretty and functional, great. If it is storage and seating, great. If it cooks and cleans and keeps you warm at night...a definite keeper, especially if he has a nice butt.

Hammocks near the ceiling, across the corner of a room can be a great storage place for stuffed toys. Does your apartment offer storage units? That may be an option also. I use bookshelves, and put baskets in them loaded with my stuff.
Each child could be assigned a toy box (made of inexpensive wood or a few plastic crates) to put their things inside.
Best wishes.

You could try a local storage unit for things you won't use very often. I had one and it was only about $30.00 a month. Small price to pay to keep your stuff and your sanity. Just check the yellow pages in your phone book under storage.

Sounds like you have a "stuff" problem, not a "space" problem....
Start throwing stuff away! Have a garage sale! Less you have, less you have to organise and you may even make some money doing this!
LOL...
