My doctor just took me off Celexa 20 mg. and put me on Wellbutrin SR 100 mg. twice daily. He gave me a generic form, but it's still too expensive. I can't afford to take two daily. I'm only working part time, and have no insurance. Does anyone know if it would be ok to just take one daily. And still have good effects. And what I can expect from taking this. The Celexa just wasn't working for me. My sex drive went down hill. Among other side effects.

I am taking taking it, in addition to Celexa. My celexa wasn't enough alone. I only take one a day, but I am still taking the celexa as well. I don't see why you can't however, if you start having symptoms, you probably don't have any choice. I would really ask your doctor though if it is safe. If you have been taking it, and stop, some of those medications can cause issues with immediately halting.

As for the sex drive, tell me about it. Zilch, Zilch Zilch.

Yes, I took 100mg. At that dose, it will help you with fatigue, but you will not get much antidepressant effect. Wellbutrin is a mild stimulant. If you are prescribed an antidepressant like Celexa and feel tired, ask your doctor to add 100mg or so of Welbutrin to it, it will really help. It might have kept your sex drive intact. That was the combo I was on. Have you tried Lexapro? It's the exact same drug as Celexa(same company), except made purer so it has less side effects. Some people have the same sexual side effects as Celexa, but others don't. I don't have insurance and am trying to strech my medicine now too and I'm finding its one area in my life where maybe I can't afford to. My moods were horrible when I cut the dose in half. Good luck
Celexa+Wellbutrin is a good combo if you can afford it.

A lot of depressed people take Wellbutrin because it doesn't affect your sex drive. However, if the price of it makes you MORE depressed, talk about it to the doctor. You usually have to stick by the prescribed dosage.

I have some experience with it.

It took me a while to find the corrct dosage and if I take too much I clinch my teeth all the time. If I dont take enoght it doesnt help me at all. If I took half of my dosage; I would be wasting time and money.

Your doctor probably decided to go this route because your on the Trazadone at night. Also, with this med the doctor has to start with a small dose once a day to ensure you can tolerate it and then it may get increased if the doctor feels that you can tolerate it and that your depression isn't improving.
