A lot of canned food is full of salt. It also loses a lot of nutrition in the canning process. Grocery store veggies lose nutrients as they age. I have heard that the best for nutrition is frozen food because it goes from picking to freezing faster than canning and doesn't sit around like grocery store veggies. The absolute very best are the ones you pick and eat right from your garden.

Canned and fresh greens are both good for you. The fresh have more nutritional value. The fresh usually taste better, depending on the vegetable. The canned are less work, you just heat them up, while the fresh you have to wash, and usually cut up then cook. Good for you for eating your greens, regardless of what type you eat!

Well, canned foods usually have preservatives and other things added to them, so they're not always great for your health if you eat too much of them. But yes, they do contain most of the same nutritional goodness for diets. Fresh foods just usually have more nutrients and other vitals than canned ones.

Canned veggies have a TON of sodium (salt) because of the preservatives. Try frozen, equally as good as fresh and easier to prepare! :)
