Well I would tell your friend to read the bible. If some thing that man is telling you just doesnt sit well with you then pick up the Bible and find out for your self what it is that God tells us..
With "hell" I find that people take the meaning to be some thing differant then what it is ment to be. The word hell is found in many Bible translations. IN the same verses other translations read"the grave" the world of the dead and so forth. Other Bibles simply transliterate the original-language words that are sometimes rendered hell that is they express them with the letters of our alphabet but leave the words untranslated. What are those words? the Hebrew she`ohl` and its greek equivalent hai`des which refer not to an individual burial place but to the common grave of dead mankind; also the greek ge`en-na which is used as a symbol of eternal destruction. However both in Christendom and in many non-Christian religions it is taught that hell is a place inhabited by demons and where the wicked after death are punished.(and some believe that this is with torment.)
another thought on this is in
Jer. 7:31; they [apostate Judeans] have built the high places of Topheth which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart.(if it never came into gods heart surely he does not have and use such a thing on a larger scale.)

"Why would God create a hell to punish us in?"
Many Christians say that they and the world are very self-centered. This is an example of that. Hell is where everything else isn't. God wants to be rid of all sin. Everyone gets to have a choice. If you do not choose his Son, Jesus, you can go where he isn't going to be. It's not to get at you, it's to give you what you want, and what he wants at the same time. That that for what you want to.
"Why would so much destruction be part of his plan?"
Because he wants to rid everything of the stench. I know that sounds hateful, but I am trying to be accurate while being metaphorical at the same time. He wants to make everything new again, like it was, untouched by sin. Sin is purged and all the things that were scarred by sin is gone. My sins right along with it.
"Why would God create something just to condemn it to hell?"
I think that you are looking at this from a singular perspective. Perhaps trying to look at it in more than one way will help you to make a descision on which seems truer to you.
IF . . . . IF we go by what the Bible says, God breathed life into ADAM. The Hebrew word isn't the word they use for man, it's the word that is used for one man - Adam. Since the Bible says that God created Adam, let's just go with that for a minute. So Adam suddenly had 'options', one was to go his own way, and the other he was familliar with, going God's way. He knew God, and walked and talked with him after all.
All those children that Adam created fell prey to the sin nature that Adam had before them. And they all got the same choice; tto fllow after whatever they wanted in their own direction, or to seek after God. And that's what we have today. Choices.
Then you say:
"He says that us Christians are God's Pawns to create a army of ignorance. "
So whoever 'he' is, isn't really important, is it? What is important to the Christian is that they listen to God a lot more than anyone else, including ourselves.
Are you reading your Bible everyday? It will do you much good.
You can e-mail me, and you can tell your 'friend' to e-mail me. I would always welcome an engaged conversation.

God did not create Hell to punish us. The Bible says it was "prepared for the devil and his angels." (Matt 25:41) It wasn't God's purpose for humans to go there. It wasn't His intention that there be so much evil in the world either, but we made it so. He COULD have made "people" with no free will, and thus no capacity to choose evil, but then we wouldn't be much more than robots. THAT would be an army of pawns.
God made us with the ability to choose. Man chose to sin, and all humans since have inherited a sinful nature - we are totally unable to NOT be sinners. You could say then that it's unfair to condemn us for what we couldn't help, but it isn't God's fault we're sinners - He didn't make us that way, He just made us with the capacity to become that way.
But, because He loves us, instead of just washing His hands of us and our failure, He gives us a way to be forgiven, to escape the sinful nature we were born with and the condemnation we deserve. It cost Him everything, and He gave it anyway, to make a way out for us, a way to Him. That Way is Christ. Read in the Bible what God went through in coming to earth as Christ and suffering and dying for us. These are not the actions of a God who "doesn't give a crap about anything but itself."
It's true though, that many people are too prideful to accept this offer of forgiveness, even though it is freely given and was unimaginably costly to God. These are people who want nothing to do with God or His love and salvation, who just want Him to leave them alone. If they don't change their minds during the course of their lives, He gives them their wish after death. He DOES leave them alone, forever. The only place in the universe where one can be utterly, hopelessly separated from God and all the good things that come from Him, is Hell. And although it wasn't made for Man and God would rather that no person ever have to go there, every day many people choose Hell over God.
Mt 25:41 - Show Context
"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels

There is a story about God talking to his angels after the Israelities crossed the Red Sea and the Egyptians drowned in the waters of the Red Sea(that is when the walls of the sea collapsed on them).
God told his angels, "Why do you rejoice in this? I expected more understanding from you." "Are the Egyptians not my creation?" "Do I not love them?"
First, God created Hell for one specific purpose. It was a place for Satan and his demons, because they had no place to go. The current Hell is a temporary location, which the final hell is the LAKE OF FIRE. When mankind sinned, fell from God, and now sin separates us from God. Mankind could not be allowed in Heaven, until Jesus came to this earth and died for our sins.
Sin and God cannot be in the same room together, so how could a sinner enter Heaven? The person chose the path to death and destruction and the only other place that the person sent themselves to, noticed I said sent themselves too is Hell.
God gives every living person a chance to accept or reject Him. This is so that people are held accountable for their actions and choices. God gives everyone that chance, peopel just have to decide whether they want eternal life or spiritual/eternal death.
God does give a crap, He sent His one and only Son, Jesus to this earth. this is so that we can enter back into Heaven and have a personal relationship with God.

1. God did not create hell for people, he created it for the devil.
2. Destruction of the world is not his plan, there are dark forces behind that.
3. See answer to #1
4. If God did not care he would not have sent his Son to die on the cross.
5. Jesus said we would be hated for his names sin.
Most of all these question are asked due to ignorance of the word of God. If people would just take the time to read the Bible their eyes, ears, and minds would be open to the love of God.

The Bible says, "The wages of sin is death." In the Garden of Eden, God told Adam if he ate from the one tree which was forbidden (thereby disobeying God) he would die (not fry). The Lake of Fire is defined in the Bible as the second death. The devil and his followers (both spirit and human) will be permanantly destroyed in the final analysis. They will not be resurrected, they will not continue to exist, they will not suffer--they will just no longer be--anyone who says different is on a different wavelength than God and could not truly be considered a Christian.

First. Yes I believe...
God didn't create Hell to punish us. It was originally intended for Lucifer and his angels(demons). Being a just God, He can't give us anything less that what He gave to Lucifer. He created us for His pleasure. All good things come from the Father. We are not pawns. Those of us who have asked Jesus to be our Lord and Savior are not pawns but are soldiers in His army of Light and Love.

Why do parents have us only to punish us for doing wrong? Parents give us guidelines and expect us to follow them, and if we don't, we get punished. God the Father has given us a simple guideline: love and worship Him. By disobeying this, we will be sent to hell. Just think of it as eternal grounding.
There is so much destruction because so much evil has entered the world. Humans have sinned and contaminated the perfect world that God created. The world will continue getting worse and worse until the return of Christ.
God didn't create us to condemn us. He has given each and every one of us the chance to repent of our sins and turn to Him. He created us to be with Him forever, but because of Adam and Eve's sin in the garden, His world has become divided.
Christians have a job to do here on earth: to bring light to everyone that is unaware. We are to spread the news that God loves everyone.

I have loved Jesus and been a Christian for 56 years. I have read your question several times, thinking about the best way to answer it. If you think of parents and children/teenagers. Let's go with teens first. Parents say "don't drink and drive". Teen does anyways, ends up paralyzed. Shall we blame the parents ? Did they put him in the hospital. So, God says " because I love you, I don't want you to get hurt, so don't lie, steal, cheat, commit adultry ........... don't sin." So God gave us free will like the teenager. We break the rules, we pay the price, just like the teenager. We condemn ourselves to hell by our behavior. Does a 5 year old want to eat the entire box of chocolates ? Yes, Parents say no, kid does anyhow and vomits all night long .. Parents fault, no ! Consequences. So as parents, we give birth to children, we "create " them. WE instruct them in how to "live right " but the child grows up and chooses to do things he was instructed not to do. Goes to jail, prison, gets hooked on drugs, gets aids ............ that is a free will choice, who suffers, who condemns herself/himself to suffering ? Not God. If you will allow yourself to just talk to Jesus as if he was your friend, you can actually say anything you want, he just wants to "talk" to you. He can read your entire mind and heart, so he already knows what you are thinking. If you can just do this and then you will "feel" him and experience his love and grace and miracles, you really will. I think those experiences are the truely convincing part. It is always a growing experience. Keep asking your questions no matter what anyone says, it never hurts to ask, there is no stupid questions.

Well God is perfect and has to be totally separate from sin, so he sent Lucifer and all the fallen angels following him to hell, and anyone with sin left in their hearts that doesn't repent and give their lives to Jesus has to go there. But many people, including myself, believe that everyone is exposed to God's Message at least once in their life, but God gives us the free will to choose Him or not. As for the ignorance thing, well that's him being ignorant and hopefully he'll wise up when he hears the truth. Hope this was detailed enough. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
