Tujague's:
New Orleans' second oldest restaurant! Located across from the French Market in the heart of the French Quarter, Tujague's has retained its reputation for providing an unforgettable dining experience in the original Creole tradition.
Deanie's Seafood:
In a town famous for great seafood, it's in a class by itself. Located in Metairie and the French Quarter, Deanie's has been recognized as one of New Orleans' best seafood joints since 1961.

There are so many good restaurants in New Orleans. Its all in how much you want to pay. For steaks its Ruth Chris or Mortons.
For hamburgers its Port of Call. Court of Two Sisters has a great week-end brunch. Commanders Palace for overall fine dining can't be beaten. For po-boys its Mother's. I could just go on and on about the great places to eat in N.O. Its hard to find a bad place to eat. Two things N.O. is known best for...the restaurants and partying.

What price are you looking for? Dress-up or casual?

Deanie's Seafood on Lake Avenue in Metairie, near Lake Pontchartrain. The wait is sometimes long, but sooooooooo worth it. No reservations. Arrive an hour before you want to eat, just in case. The wait during peak hours can be about 45 minutes, or so they tell you, but the wait is always shorter than they say it will be.
Great food, great prices.
Deanie's is one of my favorite places! Their bread pudding is yummy!

"The food at Emeril's is somewhat eclectic, but leans more toward what Chef Emeril calls "New" New Orleans cuisine. Although the menu often abounds with a pastiche of tempting dishes in the style of Southwestern, West Coast Oriental, or New England cooking, the roots of each - as well as some of the ingredients - are usually in the Creole genre. Emeril's will always offer something fresh and deliciously provocative because Emeril himself never stops thinking of new ways to outdo everything he's already done."

Galatoire's in the French Quarter is my FAVORITE !!!! I almost always order the Trout Marguery ( trout filets covered with shrimp, mushrooms, and a Bechamel sauce and a Hollandaise sauce) for an entree.
And the atmosphere is unique - it goes back to a "more formal day and time". In fact, at one time one could dine before 5 PM without a coat; after 5 PM , or maybe 6 PM, a coat was REQUIRED. My children were fascinated by the hat racks- "What are those?" !!! I reminded them that the coat and hat racks at our church also had a place to hang the men's hat when entering a place of worship; or, a place to dine.

Mandina's on Canal. They have the BEST poboys! I crave their turtle soup and trout meuniere, SO good! If you go there, stop by Angelo Brocato's afterwards, it's on Canal and Carrolton. It's an Italian pastry shop with awesome canolis.
But if you want to stay in the Quarter, I love Napolean House. Their muffalettas are so good.
Really though, you can't go wrong anywhere in New Orleans.

Bubba Gumps is cool. It's a casual theme restaurant inspired by the movie Forest Gump. It's on Decatur Street in New Orleans. The food is great.

Court of Two Sisters if you want the finest meal in town.
K Paul's is decent, but! you'll want to wait in line. Reservations go upstairs with all the tourists, wiating on line gets you down stairs with the locals. Besides, the bar will fix you up with a to go cup, makes the wait no real problem at all.

Mulates is wonderful, IF it's still there.
It's close to the waterfront, just off Canal St. in the Warehouse district.
