Parts of the bible arent true (this is a fact because in several parts it contradicts itself and 2 opposite statements cant both be true) ok?

Well if some of it isn't true then could not most of it or even all it be untrue?

I've had other people say the same thing. But no one has ever been able to show me what is actually a contradiction. And in my own personal reading of the Bible Ive never seen one. Could you give me an example?

about the add on...
some consider the gospel accounts to be at variance with respect to the animal Jesus rode on his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Mark (11:7) Luke (19:35)and John (12:14,15) indicate that Jesus rode upon a colt or a young *ss.but they make no mention of the presence of an older *ss. Yet Matthew (21:7) writes that the disciples brought the *ss and its colt and they put upon these their outer garments and he seated himself upon them "Jesus obviously did not seat himself on the two animals but upon the garments that were laid upon the colt. Evidently since he did not ride the *ss but rather its colt Mark Luke and John do not mention the presence of the parent *ss in their accounts..

I'm not sure if this is what you were talking about But I I hope it was. I hope this helps you.

I guess that you'll have to figure that out for yourself. There are those that pick on the word 'unicorn' in the King Jame's Version. They are unscholarly in a disgusting way. Because they cannot be honest about what they are saying. A simple concordance ( tehy typically run pretty cheap) could completely resove their question, but that seems to be asking too much.

So I don't know who you have been talking to, but you perhaps need to consult both the side you've been on, AND the side that is positive towards the Bible in order to get a full understanding of what the Bible says. If there is truth to be had either way, then you might expose one side or the other as being false. Unless you are completely into Relativism. In that case, why would you seek the truth if it was unobtainable? It doesn't make sense, does it?

The book you call the Bible is a translation from the Hebrew Manuscripts.
The Holy Scriptures are in totally unity, with out any contradictions in them.
Trying to understand what is written in the Hebrew Scriptures reading only the English translation is like repairing a 747 Jumbo Jet with a VoltsWagon Manual ..it can't be done.

No the bible does not contradict itself as any Christian will tell you you are taking the hold thing out of context. Now as we all know a thing that may be true at one time man not be true for all time. You Atheist Infidel Heathen. Quit trying to claim the word of God could passably not be true. You say it contradicts itself but you have not pointed out one contradiction. Why don't you point out the contradictions and challenge Christianity with them? You are an abomination is that why? Fot the parts that you struggle accepting as simple facts, try thinking of the meaning behind what is really being said by the writer or "metaphorically". For example....Did Jesus turn a piece of bread and one fish into meals for thousands? Maybe. Maybe not. But if you don't believe in the factual interpretation, could you not take out of it that the Lord provides for us all? As long as The Word motivates you into loving and forgiving, God isn't going to condemn you if you don't believe every word as factual.

The bible never contradicts itself? Are you sure?

"You shall not murder."
--Exodus 20:13

"Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man."
--Numbers 31:17-18

This is not a contradiction?

The Bible commands us to kill people who work on the sabbath -- Exodus 31:14.

If the bible does not contradict itself why do you not kill people who work on the sabbath?

The Bible says it's okay to rape a virgin so long as you pay her father fifty shekels -- Deuteronomy 22:28-29

Guys, if the bible does not contradict itself why do you not rape virgins?

What 2 contradictions are you referring to? Because you should state all the information so that others can give you intelligent answers. By not giving all the facts behind your question you are invoking a biased answer.

it's all a well published compilation of editing and stories

truth is usually accredited to number of believers....

so with that circular reasoning, it's true for many

but untrue for those who need facts and reason, dates and explanations of how moon is said to shine but Sun is what gives the Light...lol things like that point to man's attempts to rule others, and quite succesful, at that

see also inequality and blatant sexism

I found a site that deals with Biblical contradictions. I hope you don't mind that I posted that rather then give you a real answer, but this is such a big question to me, and I simply don't have the proper knowledge to do this question justice.
