My last question about the Sabbath being kept on Saturday (which is actually Friday at dark till Saturday night at dark) MOST people said it really didnt matter what day you choose.

It matter what is in the heart. I agree the heart is #1. But Jesus and Paul said, the fruit of the Spirit (a right heart) will follow the Law. Not by effort but by love and spirit.

So, why do we worship on SUNDAY? Did God err when writing the 10 commandments? Are we excempt from the one about murder too?

The ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH changed the Sabbath. I dont say this to condemn or be self righteous. I simple want Christians to know the facts. Here is a document proving this, authourized by Pope Pius XI. http://www.remnantofgod.org/PiusAdmission.jpg

Please, follow His ways! Like He wants! He WAS NOT tired on day 7! He is saying look how important my work is...and I observe the Sabbath!

Was it a Mistake?

7th day Adventist
Messianic Jews..only ones who observe the Sabbath. The road is narrow

Many Sunday observers argue that the change of the Sabbath from the seventh to the first day of the week dates back to Jesus and His apostles. They assert that Sunday observance replaced the seventh-day Sabbath for most Christians as early as the first century A.D. and became a fixed custom by the mid-second century. Therefore, they urge that all Christians today should regard the seventh-day Sabbath as a Jewish institution that should not be observed. Since Sunday was the first day of creation week (Gen. 1:5) and the day on which Christ rose from the dead (Matt. 28:1-10; Mark 16:1-9), it should be observed as a day of Christian worship and rejoicing in accordance with the custom of the early Christian fathers. In fact, Sunday keepers argue that observance of the seventh-day Sabbath is a highly legalistic custom that is thoroughly consistent with those Jewish ceremonial practices abolished when Jesus died on the cross.

I could find no verse, however, jesus did say that he would rebuild the temple in three days. So if someone chooses to honor god on sunday, since that was the day jesus died, and the symbol of new birth, I dont think that God minds.

Are you talking about some of the people who ask questions on Yahoo Answers? If so, no God did not make them as a mistake, they simply chose to behave the way they do.

Now as to your sermon. We serve a risen savior, and he rose on the first day of the week. The Sabbath is still the Sabbath, always has been and always will be. The primary purpose of the Sabbath was to rest. Come to think about it, I love to relax and rest on the Sabbath even now.

I could go on, but realize you already have your mind made up and are here to proselytize, so best to you and go in peace.

Saturday is still the Sabbath, however some Christians do not choose to put themselves under the Law, we are under Grace. If you read the Bible, Christians ment on the Lord's Day, Sunday, the day Jesus rose from the grave.

I don't know who told you that the sabbath was changed but they are wrong. The sabbath has always been Friday night at sundown until Saturday night at sundown. When you go to church doesn't change that fact. Have you read what the sabbath was all about. It has everything to do with rest and nothing to do with going to church. Paul told us to live everyday for the Lord and that is how I try to do it... Jim

Are you seventh day adventist? Is that why you're asking this? I know your founder, I forgot her name supposedly had this vision of that commandment standing out above all the rest. White was her name. Anyway, your church is under strict laws. Christians follow the law of their hearts and have a personal relationship with Jesus. It's not important what day you worship. I worship the Lord everyday. Your religion believes that everyone who worships on Sunday is of the beast in Rev. That's ridiculous. There's alot of good Christians who worship the Lord on Sunday including many believers in the new testament. That's what they were doing on the day of pentacost and it was Sunday.

I would love to worship God and Jesus Christ in my church on Saturday, but there are no churches near me that have Saturday services, and I don't want to go to a Seventh Day Adventist Church. I love my church and the people who comprise it. I hope that God will understand my desire to follow His command, but my inability to force my entire congregation to worship on Saturday.

Christians celebrate God on Sunday because on Sunday Jesus (God) was resurrected from the grave (death). It is called the New Testament.
