I won't be able to take my son to the dentist for at least 2 or 3 weeks. His front tooth is growing in BEHIND his baby tooth (he's 6) The baby tooth is loose, but he won't let me pull it out. I felt it a few minutes ago and it doesn't feel as loose as it was a few days ago. Should I be worried, or is it okay and I can just wait for his appointment??
Thanks

I'VE SEEN THIS ON A REGULAR BASIS. EVEN THOUGH AT 6, THE TOOTH SHOULD HAVE LOOSENED FOR THE BIG ONE TO COME IN, THERE IS A GAP OF TIME FOR KIDS OF ABOUT 6-9 MONTHS EITHER WAY. YOUR SON WILL BE JUST FINE UNTIL THE NEXT CHECKUP. IF THEY OPT TO EXTRACT THEN, IT WILL BE A GOOD THING.

Don't worry. This is a mere suggestion
If he doesn't want it pulled out, motivate him by telling him its not going to hurt. Take him to the dentist so he/she removes the baby tooth so the front tooth can grow in place (even if the baby tooth is not loose).

You can wait till his appointment. I had the same thing with almost every tooth. Encourage his to work at loosening it up though.
